Necessity was the mother of invention—and the father of lies. Back in 2019 after publishing Rise of The Star Kingdom on Mac OS, we needed a way to track bugs and tasks for our game. We loved spreadsheets but at some point needed the power of sorting and filtering to prioritize our work. From working in AAA games, we got used to DevTrak but it wasn't available to the public. As we kept looking for a solution, our options dwindled. Bugzilla, Mantis, and others like it were too cumbersome to set up and bloated with features we didn't need. Other apps online focused on charts, graphs, and centered design around schedules and time management. We needed something simple, easy to use, quick to update, and as close to a bug tracking app as possible. GitHub's wasn't bad but very limiting and constraining; we wanted our lists to be centered around priorities—not time or anything else. That's why we opted to make our own.

Imagine when starting a task to have a clock that runs and times the task being worked on at hand. It's then auto-updated in their summary so they can get a better idea of how long tasks take to complete.

AI can also help with auto complete of tasks and as a co-pilot, suggest ways to organize and sort priorities. It's a feature that would be available to Pro and Enterprise users or as a paid add-on to free users.

Theme Store
Browse themes, install, and update the look of one's list. In theory, one should be able to save or switch per project and make available through a simple drop-down manager.
A major part of the store should be easy of accessibility for those who want to make them as well as a way to share them with others. If charged, we'd like for creators to make a profit off their work and for Task Tracker Pro to take a small cut.
Themes API
The Themes API would allow developers to create and publish custom themes for Task Tracker Pro. By providing access to the API, developers can contribute to the theme ecosystem and offer users a wide range of customization options.
Ideally we could provide templates for developers to start with and a way to test and preview their work before publishing. We can also create tutorials and videos we'd showcase in the community forum.

NO PRIORITY
Philosophy
Task Tracker Pro started off with an MVP minimalist approach. But over time and with experience we realized the power of planning and creating an overall vision. That said, despite a shift in direction, we still believe in only building what we need, when we need it, and if it's a priority of necessity.
But keeping it simple is key. As lofty as all of the above mentioned list seems, after all that, we’re done. We don’t want for Task Tracker to have more, but less. If anything, Task Tracker’s future is probably more about refining and perfecting what it can do than more features. In other words, it’s an app with simplicity in mind where quality means more than quantity.
Business Model
Charge for wants, provide for needs is our motto. We believe in a freemium model where the basic necessities are free but anything not critical to the core experience is either a paid or subscription feature. We also believe in a fair price for a fair product. We don't believe in ads, data mining, or selling user data. We believe in a product that is worth the price and that's it.
